Hawkesbury Cliff Development: Deliverance

In preparation for the Upskill Hawkesbury Houseboat Trip in March, CRUX magazine Ed and avid new-router Neil Monteith and I spent the weekend going hell for leather on a great new cliff on the Hawkesbury River dubbed Deliverance. It's remote, and has private land access issues, but thankfully we have gained permission to climb here. The cliff is NE facing so is in the shade for most of the day which makes it an ideal summer cliff.

Neil established three routes (20, 22, 24) and one unfinished project. I established three routes (22, 22, 25) and two others awaiting first ascents (around 18-20).

As you can see, the rock is fantastic. Very Grampians and Taipan-esque in places, and very compact.

We're planning on spending at least one day at this cliff on the Hawkesbury trip. There is first ascents to complete, as well as scope for putting up new lines.
