As per this thread on Chockstone, a very popular route in the Blue Mountains which had a single clip-n-go lower-off anchor was found to be extremely dodgy. The biner broke under 169kg of force, which is about the same amount of force it would be under during the lowering process. It's a miracle someone wasn't hurt or killed. Arm yourself with some knowledge and check out this safety warning...
